Definitions
- The cubic foot is 28.3168 litres. UK gas meters installed before the 1990s still read in hundreds of cubic feet.
- The cubic metre is the SI unit of volume, and holds exactly 1000 litres. Water and gas meters read in it.
- This conversion is exact by definition. 1 ft³ = 0.02831684659 m³.
- US and imperial units of the same name are different sizes. A US pint is 473 mL; an imperial pint is 568 mL. Every unit below says which system it belongs to.
